Interactive Lessons on Phonics

Children love involvement and that is seen in their enthusiasm to participate. There are phonics classes specially involved in the pre school level so that children learn much about the sound. They are very much interesting in knowing the simple one liner that comes along with the sound of ‘a’like ‘Ants’ are crawling up my arm. A-a-a. This is said with the tongue sticking out to clearly produce the sound ‘a’ as in cat, rat and bat. Initially they love the animation and actions and they slowly are able to relate to the real phonic lesson. A good teacher understands their concentration span and is able to provide more delight with the help of a music and audio session. This is done really well with the help of worksheets, group involvement and loads of cheering.

Some kids are usually shy and it is true the phonics classes are the best way a child can learn to talk. Another thing is about vocabulary. Reading is a great way to help the child know about words. Knowing the right sound is vital so that kids understand why the particular sound goes short of varied words. They are also able to learn the lower and upper case in alphabets. Sticking of wool, threads, rubber bands and coloring with pastels is another innovative to continue a phonics lesson. Once the interest is generated, children interact very freely. The evaluation need not be very formal as the children progress gradually in all the spheres connected with academics.

The most excellent way to add more interest in a phonic class is a quiz session. You can have a revision day and then next day you can conduct a Quiz class. Special attraction can be added with more points for the best expression. This is also a great way to conceptualize. May be as per the age of the student you can involve new interactive phases like animal phonics or names of cities. This is an additional round which you can have with your regular class. Knowing more about phonics really improves your confidence. This is really good and does much to the personality of the child. Looking at the worksheets and progress made, the children can go the second or third level of phonics lessons.

In the advanced phonics class, the interaction is the main concern. Here children can play a game or listen to an audio. Here we can begin with the introduction of silent words and this is really helpful. The effect of ph as f is quite unique to children but when you show them a picture of Jumbo the elephant and have it colored, they adjust to that it has to be pronounced as eli-f-ant
